Day 1

Day 1: Siem Reap Arrival

Upon arrival in Siem Reap, transfer at your own to hotel for check-in. In the late afternoon, the guide will meet the group at the hotel lobby for trip briefing and heading for dinner. Meals included: Dinner Accommodation: Hotel in Siem Reap Note: Room is at your disposal from 14:00
Day 2

Day 2: Siem Reap - Hiking along the masterpieces of the Angkor Archaeological Park

Option: Sunrise at Angkor Wat You will leave the hotel in the early morning then head to the Angkor Wat for the sunrise. Enjoy the magnificiant view of Angkor complex when the sun comes out from the horizon. Afterwards, you will travel back to your hotel for breakfast and start a full day hiking in Angkor Park. Start your day by visiting Angkor Wat, the largest religious structure in the world, and one of the top UNESCO World Heritage sites world-wide. After the visit, your walking tour will start, taking you around the moat of this enormous temple, and entering on a tiny trail, passing by a small local village. Continue crossing through the Angkor Thom South Gate, climb up on its ancient wall, and walk along the shadowy path covered by ancient trees. You will reach a small temple, and then you will finally arrive right at the center of the Khmer capital, where the majestic Bayon Temple stands before you. Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant and then continue your visit of Angkor Thom, exploring the Royal Palace, the Elephant terrace, and the other incredible temples located in the area. Finally, end your visit at the Bayon Temple, and travel back to your hotel. In the evening, ready to explore further street foods. Discover the most savored flavors of local Cambodian cuisine as you walk through the center of Siem Reap, uncovering a bounty of tasty surprises as you go. Visit a restored local house to begin your exploration with an aperitif and assortment of renowned Khmer delicacies. Continue to a famous local eatery where they serve traditional saak koh ang (grilled beef with raw and fresh vegetables) accompanied by local beer or drinks. The evening continues with a browse through the market by night, and ends at the riverside to enjoy a traditional dessert. These gastronomic highlights guarantee a flavor-filled evening to savor! Day 3

Day 3: Siem Reap - Phnom Kulen Trek

In the morning, around 7:00, travel from Siem Reap to Phnom Kulen, the largest forested area in the Siem Reap province. After only 5 kilometers of driving, you will already be right in the middle of the Cambodian countryside, passing through rural villages, endless rice fields, and coconut trees. Welcome to the wilds of Cambodia! Upon arriving at the National Park checkpoint, located at the foot of Kulen Mountain, we’ll stop to show our tickets and proceed along the road to reach our starting point. There, the local ranger, along with our professional guide, will greet you, both of whom will accompany you over the course of the 2-day trek. After a short briefing, head out into the jungle, first coming upon The River of 1000 Lingas. Here, it's hard not to marvel at the carvings located around the river, dedicated to the Hindu God Shiva, not to mention the golden Reclining Buddha, situated at Preah Ang Thom. After visiting these main sites, stop at the Phnom Kulen Waterfall, and, if you’d like, refresh yourself with a nice swim. After some rejuvenation and rest, embark on a single trail plunging, into the deep forest and indulge in the natural surroundings, trying to spot some of the Cambodian wildlife. By the afternoon, you’ll reach your lunch stop located along a small river - help the guide and the ranger to set up the picnic, and dine on some well-earned food, surrounded by peaceful, natural splendor. After lunch, take a rest for a while along the river, then continue the trek, ending at the local homestay - your accommodation for tonight. Accommodation: Local Homestay Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Level: 2 Distance & duration of hiking: 12 kilometers – 3 hours (Excluding site visits) Total Elevation Gain: + 253 meters / - 212 meters Starting point / Ending point elevation: + 322 meters / + 372 meters Terrain: mainly jungle trails, through forest Transportation: full-day vehicle support – 50 kilometers – 1 hour 20 minutes (From hotel to starting point) – Emergency vehicle available (Motorbike taxi - possible to access in most of the areas).
Day 4

Day 4: Phnom Kulen Trek, the loop - Siem Reap

Wake up in the early morning to enjoy the fresh, tranquil atmosphere of the local village, hedged in by palm and coconut trees. After a delicious local breakfast cooked by the family, start your second day of trekking by taking on the Phnom Kulen plateau. Today, you will hike along a diverse mix of trails, starting with a jungle trail through the forest, which takes you by some hidden temples dated to the 10th century, as well as some of cashew nut plantations managed by local villagers. Today’s highlight is surely the famous Sra Damrei site, which houses a holy Elephant statue and shrine, carved in sandstone, representing the mountain's guardian. This site is very important for Cambodian people, who travel from all over the country to visit and pray. Continue making your way through the forest until you reach a pagoda, where you will have another scrumptious local lunch and a short rest before continuing the hike, visiting some other archaeological beautiful sites along the trail. Make sure to stop at the impressive Phnom Tbal, which sports stone carvings representing Shiva, Vishnu and other Hindu gods. Also in the area is Prasat Rong Chen, a small pyramid temple but definitely one of the most important places you'll see all day: you'll be standing on the site where Jayavarman II announced independence from Java and declared himself King of the entire Khmer Empire. Today’s tour will end at the homestay where you started. After bidding farewell to the local family, travel by van to Siem Reap, leaving the National Park from the opposite side from where you entered. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch Accommodation: Hotel Siem Reap Level: 3 Distance & duration of hiking: 15 to 20 kilometers – 5-6 hours (Excluding site visits) Total Elevation Gain: + 412 meters / - 315 meters Starting point / Ending point elevation: + 372 meters / + 372 meters Terrain: mainly jungle trails, through forest Transportation: full day vehicle support – 22 kilometers – 40 minutes (From ending to homestay) – Emergency vehicle available (Motorbike taxi - possible to access in most of the area)
Day 5

Day 5: Siem Reap - Banteay Chhmar

You will depart from Siem Reap to Banteay Chhmar. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by the local people and check in to your homestay then have delicious lunch in a local community restaurant cooked by the local villagers. After lunch, you will start exploring the area with the Community local guide, first visiting the Banteay Chhmar and Ta Phrom Temples by walking, then you will visit Soierie du Mékong silk center before going to a barray to enjoy the sunset and a refreshing drink. Meanwhile, the local villagers will prepare the dinner for the evening for you using locally grown ingredients and you will taste a delicious traditional Cambodian meal. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner Accommodation: Overnight in a homestay Distance: 162 kilometers - 3 hours - one way Note: English speaking local guide at the community-based tourism
Day 6

Day 6: Banteay Chhmar - Battambang

After breakfast, you will visit rice fields, vegetables, gardens, farm and then observe some other astonishing temples. You can also participate with the locals in the local life by joining a hand to help them in the field. You will then have a lunch at a community restaurant. After lunch, it is time to say goodbye to all beloved people here. You will continue your trip to Battambang. Upon arrival in Battambang, check-in your hotel and take some rest. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner Accommodation: Overnight in Battambang Distance: 129 kilometers - 2 hours
Day 7

Day 7: Battambang – Countryside Cycling Tour

The tour will start with a visit to the local market, where you will discover all the local goods on sale. Then, continue past the old French colonial buildings lining the riverfront boulevard to the French governor’s house, and then on to the Wat Tahm-rai-saw (the ‘White Elephant’ temple). Next, you will pay a visit to an ancient pagoda, called Wat Balat, situated around 3 kilometers from the city center. Along the path, following a small stream, you will have the chance to see houses typical of the area and that have remained unchanged for generations, along with rice paddies, local workshops, and much more. Take part in the village’s daily activities, such as the preparation of sticky rice, smoking bananas to dry them, rice wine making, rice paper making for fresh spring rolls, custom knife making, or the preparation of the traditional fish paste, prahok. This is truly an unforgettable experience, as you’re accompanied by the local children waving and greeting you with “hello! hello!” as you ride along. At the end of the tour, you will have the chance to see the small Angkorian temple Ek Phnom that was built during the 11th century and return to hotel. Balance the day at leisure or visit Battambang at your own pace. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch Accommodation: Hotel in Siem Reap Level: 1 Distance & duration: 30 kilometers – 6 hours cycling including the visits Terrain: Mainly paved road passing through local villages Transportation: 1 kilometers – 10 minutes (Hotel to starting point) / 8 kilometers – 30 minutes (Ek Phnom to hotel) Note: Optional to come back from Ek Phnom to the city center by bike adding 8 kilometers cycling.
Day 8

Day 8: Battambang

In the morning, enjoy the cooking class at the Nary Kitchen Restaurant and Cooking School located in the city center of Battambang, near central market (Psaar Nat) just walking distance of most hotels in the city. A friendly and full of energy kitchen! Nary Kitchen is a small family-own restaurant operated since 2009 by Mr. VUTHY and his wife Mrs. NARY which are compassionate to share with you the authentic Khmer recipes. Mr. VUTHY can speak English and French very fluently and such a happy and fun guy. Before starting the cooking lesson, take the chance to discover by shopping ingredients at the market. Each of you will learn how to cook with 4 different lessons (3 meals + 1 dessert). Enjoy cooking but with the joy of eating at final. At the end of the class, you will get a free recipes book for your souvenir and you can practice it back at home. In the afternoon, you will visit Phare Ponleu Selpak - an NGO based in Battambang and was founded in 1994 with a mission to provide artistic training to poor, young Cambodians. This organization also provides formal education from primary to high school for underprivileged children. The PPS Association began as a visual arts school and then a library, a child development center and then a social and health care center. Nowadays their Circus Skills School Group performs successfully in Battambang and Siem Reap as well as internationally. For a minimum of one hour spent with the guide of PPS, you will be told about the visions and missions, as well as the story behind the Phare Centre.Next, you will visit Bat Caves of Phnom Sampov where you will climb the mountain and enjoy the view as well the sunset from the top before heading back to the hotel Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch Accommodation: Hotel in Battambang Note - 1 hour visit Phare Ponleu Circus. Schedule: 09h30, 10h30, 14h30, and 15h30 - Cooking class: The cooking class open from Monday to Saturday. There're two classes a day at 09:00 am to 12 am for lunch and 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm for dinner.
Day 9

Day 9: Battambang - Siem Reap

At a good time, you will transfer back to Siem Reap. The road you will take this morning runs to the north of the massive Tonle Sap Lake, and passes through Sisophon, in Banteay Meanchey province. During the trip, you will have the opportunity to admire the rice fields, and villages characterised by the traditional Khmer houses. You will also get the chance to observe some stonemasons whose techniques have been passed down through the centuries since the Angkorian era. Arrive in Siem Reap, check-in your hotel and have the rest of the day free at your leisure. The guide will meet the group again for a farewell dinner. Meals included: Breakfast, dinner. Accommodation: Hotel in Siem Reap Distance: 173 kilometers - Due to the development of the road network in Cambodia, the duration of transfer may be approximatively 4 hours.
Day 10

Day 10: Siem Reap departure

At a good time, transfer at your own to Siem Reap airport for the departure flight. Meals included: Breakfast Room is at your disposal until 12:00 Departure flight TBA
